Necktie of the Day: 1960’s Fat Flower Power Tie
Talk about one groovy tie! This one has all the markings of a mid 60’s tie, both in width and design. At 6 inches from corner to corner, it is the widest tie I’ve encountered, not counting gargantuan gag gift ties and colossal clown ties you find in costume shops. The stylized flowers come in amazing green, orange and pink.
This necktie was actually sold at the retail level for the fashionable man who wished to match it with wide bell bottom pants and suits with broad lapels. This necktie is made of polyester and is marked Dino Orsini.
Take a look at this Widest Tie Ever – 60’s 70’s Vintage Floral Tie when you get a chance. It might inspire you to try wide ties if you are feeling brave. Standard floral ties are a safer bet.
