This and That About Neckties

Ah, the color red! The color of love, passion and desire!  Solid red ties are among my favorites.  There are so many shades, and this deep rich red is really appealing.  Besides the color, this 1980’s era tie holds a secret: a photo of a nude woman is printed on the lining just behind the tip!

This type of novelty tie got its bold start in the 1940’s when scantily clad and nude women where painted onto the front side of men’s neckties.  Someone got the bright idea to print photographs of pin ups on the underside.  Needless to say, they were quite popular!  The trend continued into the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and even Dolce & Gabbana has gotten into the act with modern versions.
