This and That About Neckties

An acronym is a word formed from the first letters of a series of words which is then used as an abbreviation to refer to that series of words. Acronyms are used to conserve time and space. For example, NYSE is the acronym for the New York Stock Exchange.

More amusingly, this red tie features not just pigs, but the backside of pigs along with the acronym MCP!  It can be worn for fun or as a badge of honor.  It seems that acronym novelty ties first appeared during the mid 60’s.  I’ve seen ties featuring two frogs and YPOM (Your Pad Or Mine), and DOM (Dirty Old Man), but my two favorites are IITYWTMWYBMAD (If I Tell You What This Means Will You Buy Me A Drink) and two resting donkeys featured with YCDBSOYA (You Can’t Do Business Sitting On Your Ass).
