countess mara red-navy stripeThere is no doubt that this tie is a true classic.  From as early as the late 1800’s, throughout the next century and today, striped ties are and always have been popular.  This dark red, burgundy red and navy blue tie sports evenly spaced stripes.  It was manufactured in the late 70’s and bears the designer logo, that is, a nine point coronet above the CM initials machine embroidered in navy thread.  The fabric has just the right amount of sheen.  While it bears no fabric label, we are almost certain it is made of silk.

While it is almost 40 years old, it looks brand new.  It is that clean!  And it is 3.5 inches wide, which is well within today’s norms.
