This and That About Neckties

I really like ties which are seasonal but transcend a single holiday. This way they can be worn for several months.  Take this skinny tie.   The fact that there is no red or green really helps! Woven blue and gray stripes provide a nice backdrop to the four machine stitched embellishments, one of which is a snowflake.

Even though this vintage 1950’s skinny tie has a small working space, the manufacturer really packed a punch. Necktie companies were famous for layering several designs from the 40’s through the 80’s.  The stripes would have sufficed as would have the snowflake against a solid background, but the combination is fabulous!
