This and That About Neckties

Today is a very special day!

It’s Eeyore’s Birthday Day!  Actually the third Saturday in April is officially his birthday and a day long party has been held in his honor annually since 1963  in Austin, Texas.

Eeyore is a character in A. A. Milnes Winnie the Pooh stories, and in this Party Themed Cartoon Necktie he is joined by Tigger, Piglet and Winnie the Pooh, each of which is being lifted by red, blue, green and pink party balloons!

I love the fact the tie features all four of our favorite characters and the birthday celebration is great, too! It is a festival for children and families. They’ve got live music, food and drink which benefit local non-profit organizations.

Most attendees don colorful costumes. One of the funniest traditions is the appearance of the Eeyore of Liberty, which yes, combines the Statue of Liberty with Eeyore’s face! All in all, a fun event.
