Necktie of the Day: A Tie to Celebrate National Lighthouse Day
Well it got too late, and I went beddy bye before I had a chance to post this entry. So……yesterday was
National Lighthouse Day!
According to the American Lighthouse Foundation, on August 7th 1789, Congress approved an Act for the establishment and the support of lighthouses, this including buoys, beacons and public piers. Fast forward 200 years, when on August 7th, 1989, in celebration of the this anniversary of the signing of this act, Congress designated the day as National Lighthouse Day.
There are some mighty cool lighthouses out there. I’ve had the pleasure of walking to the top of the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse in Florida as well as visiting the Cape Neddick “The Nubble” Lighthouse in Maine and the Hacenta Head & Yaquina Head in Oregon. As you can see, I really really love them! This navy blue lighthouse repeating pattern necktie was produced by Cape Cod Neckwear, and it is a nice understate choice for fellow enthusiasts!
