Happy Presidents’ Day!

If you’re a kid, you’re enjoying the day off as are federal workers. No mail deliveries today, which means you can expect long lines at the post office, as Tuesday becomes this week’s Monday.

Until 40 years ago, this holiday was known as Washington’s Birthday (Feb. 22nd), when it became a national holiday in 1885. Over the years Americans also began honoring Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, which falls on February 12, and in 1971, under President Nixon, the holiday became known as Presidents Day, a day to honor all presidents.
