Tortoise Repeat NecktieToday is World Turtle Day!

That reminds me of two stories I’d like to share with you:

Years ago at Daytona Beach, Florida, I found a newly hatched sea turtle struggling to make it to the ocean. I contacted the local authorities who gladly took the extra effort to release it in such a way to ensure the seagulls didn’t get to the delicacy first.

When I first moved to Las Vegas, I noticed these really short one foot fences erected in the outskirts of the city and in the desert. Come to find out they are tortoise fences to prevent them from crossing highways and getting run over.
