This and That About Neckties

Public figures are scrutinized from every angle. We watch them at their best and their worst, as we see the same in ourselves. Let’s not forget this fact before we draw a biting breath, for we have far more in common with them, which is why we can relate to the death of  pop star Whitney Houston.

Sure, Whitney had more means than many of us do to address her demons which took her so soon. It didn’t make a damn bit of difference. Unfortunately her voice was lost over a decade ago & she lived as a mere shell of herself until yesterday. She could have died at age 38 without any appreciable difference. Then her passing would have appeared even more tragic given her age.

I treat her life story as a learning lesson as I live from this day forward. I will always remember her as an artist who touched me with her music and as a troubled human being no different than the rest of us.
