No, this isn’t a typo. In the fashion world designer Valentino Garavani is simply known as Valentino. Many of his vintage neckties bears the “V” logo incorporated as part of the front design, as does this skinny burgundy red striped Valentino tie.
Other times the Valentino name and a design number are printed on the thin back flap. It just depends.
Actually I have a confession to make. I can’t say for certain that Valentino Day wasn’t created to honor the silent screen star instead, but it is my opportunity to showcase a designer tie!

This tie you see appears to depict an alphabet of sorts, but I have no clue which one. Someone suggested ancient Greek, but it isn’t. I’ve looked and looked unsuccessfully.
This alphabet chart necktie is a real enigma. Actually I have two such ties, this red one and another yellow one. It did occur to me that maybe Oliver Fitz, the designer, has taken artistic liberties and has created gobbly gook to make it look like letters. Then the joke would be on us! Although I’d much prefer for it to be some ancient alphabet only familiar to linguistic scholars.

April is National Card & Letter Writing Month! But don’t take my word for it (every pun intended)!
I’m glad because in this throw away society and age of twitters it is possible that many of us have lost out on the fine art of writing snail mail letters. We may have our parents’ and grandparents’ letters to read, which are well thought out and offer insight and family history, but what will be leave our children?

A brewsky or two is fine, but when you finish a case like the character Charlie from the TV sitcom “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”, then you know you have a problem.
This terrific Fornasetti beverage tie features various cocktail drinks each in their proper glasses, including cognac, vermouth, vino, porte, barolo and vermouth. It was produced by Fornasetti, whose label is printed on the thin end of the necktie (see the photo) and whose company is named after the famous 20th century interior decorator and artist by the same name. You may know him for his Julia plate series, which are very popular today.
